The IFSA, in association with the FWT and JFT have an exciting season of events planned and it is sure to be one of the most amazing seasons in competitive freeskiing. As you know, qualifying for the FWT, let alone just getting registered for one, is getting more and more difficult each year. But over the past 10 years there has been one event that has stood out as one of the most challenging competitions in Freeskiing. The Canadian Open Freeskiing Championships at Red Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC.
We are excited to help Red Mountain Resort along with their presenting sponsor Stikeman Elliot announce the 10th Annual event and its strategic scheduling. Like I said before, the opportunities to qualify for a spot on the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour are more and more challenging each year. The Canadian Open Championships is an official FWT Qualifier and this prestigious event is scheduled for January 12-16th, 2011. Just 3 days following the FWT stop in Revelstoke. I would like to encourage all athletes that are planning to compete in the Revelstoke event to get registered for this event as well. Take advantage of your time in Canada and include this event in your itinerary. It is only a short drive south from Revelstoke to Rossland and being one of only two FWT Qualifiers could be your last and best opportunity to qualify for a spot on the FWT.
